Club Emailer - July Place next info under this line below: ___________________________________ 7/3/2008 - Joe.S - I'm sending this out again because I never got the last one and I fear there is a problem. If any of you get this please email me. Thanks. Otherwise I will need to contact our IT group. ___________________________________ 7/3/2008 - Joe.S - I'm sending out this test newsletter. I noticed that two members have subscribed and I want to make sure they are getting an email okay when I send this out. Please reply to this email - if you get this email. Thanks ___________________________________ 7/1/2008 - Joe.S - This is a test. We are looking for a solution for doing group emailings. The Newsletter feature allows people - both members and non-members to subscribe and unsubscribe anytime they choose. This is a great feature as you can control getting this info. What I'm thinking is: we can use this instead of sending group emails thru regular email. When you have some important club info to share with everyone (subscribers) you simply come to the website>>> go to the newsletter and edit in the new info you want to share. I would suggest that all new info get placed at the top of the letter and to separate each new entry with a line - a bunch of underscores. After you enter the new info then you save the update. Then you send out the "Newsletter". Then an email is sent to everyone who is currently subscribed. What do you think? Only problem is right now only a person with admin level website control can both edit the newsletter and send it out - but both from the frontend. I have found an access setting that allows you to edit the Newsletter, but then you cannot edit in the calendar using your current "Manager" level - you have now. I'm asking our IT group about creating a user-level that will give all our members both functions - editing both the calendar events and newsletter and sending the newsletter. So for the moment this will not work. But I think it is worth looking into... If it cannot be done or costs us too much to create, then I have another solution that involves another step and uses our Gmail account. But before I go here let's see if we can get this solution working. For now go to the forum to post your comments. Thanks...
